Diners who want to stuff themselves with tasty, all-you-can-eat dim sum and other Cantonese delicacies won't want to miss The Splendor Taichung Hotel's latest restaurant, La Village. Located on the 11th floor, this spacious restaurant has that pleasant, slightly chaotic and noisy Hong Kong-style ambiance, complete with bustling waiters, pushing carts laden with steamers full of succulent dim sum delicacies, from steamed shrimp dumplings to sweet desserts. In addition to the carts, diners can help themselves at a long buffet that features dozens of selections, prepared by the restaurant's chefs--all from Hong Kong. This includes small side dishes, like the "pi dan" thousand-year eggs; a fried-food stations where items like turnip cakes are cooked up; a cart serving tasty bowls of "jou" porridge, traditional desserts like wooden buckets of "dou hua", and tins of various tea leaves, which diners can pick from to prepare their own brews. The cost per person is NT$399 for lunch and afternoon teatime, and NT$499 for dinner (plus 10% service charge).
