Nowadays, restaurant goers not only look for good taste, but are also becoming more health conscious. Therefore, eateries promoting healthy cuisine have been popping up an every street corner, like the Little Fat Goat Healthy Hot Pot that recently opened on Gung Yi Road. offers two types of soup base-the spicy pot and the non-spicy healthy pot. Both soup bases contain a milky chicken broth that takes 72 hours to prepare, with 68 different kinds of Chinese herbs added. The spicy pot contains a specially concocted brew of hot spices, giving it layers of spiciness. What makes Little Fat Goat Hot Pot different from others is the lack of dipping sauces, as the soup base itself is flavorsome enough. There is no cover charge or minimum charge. Lamb dishes are NT$320 per plate. The meat is selected from lambs under 6months old, and taste especially tender. Their handmade meatballs are also very special, along with their homemade crusty buns. Reminiscent of northwestern China, these sell for NT$30 each. The creators of Little Fat Goat, Mr. And Mrs. Li, had not intended to open branches so soon, but by popular request from loyal customers, there will be two more outlets appearing sometime around December, proving the acclaim of this healthy eatery. --By Catherine Liu, translated by Cara Steenstra
