This
cozy, attractive Italian restaurant is the brainchild of
four friends who all once worked together at The Landis
Hotel. Located on Gong Yi Road about half-way between Donxing
(Dung Shing) and Wenxin (Wen Shin) roads, this place provides
a little getaway for diners with its charming decor, including
wooden floors, warm yellow walls and green tablecloths.
The upstairs windows look out onto a small balcony garden
and the trees outside, giving an extremely pleasant atmosphere.
The tasty, attractively-presented, reasonably-priced pasta
and risotto dishes here are prepared by former Landis head
Western chef Encore Wang. These include the Lobster Capellini
with XO Sauce (NT$360), Chicken Linguine with Walnut (NT$240),
Scallop Fettucine with Cream Cheese (NT$280), and Chicken
Risotto with Bacon and Mushrooms (NT$260). All these come
with Caesar salad, bread and drink, with optional, add-on
NT$40 soup and NT$50 alcoholic beverage. The restaurant
puts an emphasis on healthy cuisine and this extends to
the drink menu, which includes to six herbal healthy teas
(NT$120) like rose, lavender, lemon grass and British mint.
There are also six complex herb teas (NT$140) like Sleeping
Tea (calyx of orange, linden, jasmine) or Smart Tea (vervain,
rosemary, rose). There are various coffees (NT$70-120),
NT$90 beers and house wines and various snacks, like waffles
and cookies. Diners get free, convenient parking at the
big lot directly across the street. --By Douglas Habecker;
