Thirty years ago, this restaurant's name appeared in Yamu Liau (Female-Duck House) Market in Tainan. Though it was a small restaurant, crowds gathered there daily. Hoping to serve the central Taiwan residents, the Taichung branch has opened to share the flavors of soy-stewed and corned meats from Tainan. All the products are made early in the morning in Kaohsiung and arrive in Taichung in the afternoon by express delivery. Preservatives are never used, only fresh duck and chicken stewed for hours in specially-made soup, then corned with brown sugar to be dehydrated. The top sellers are duck wings, black sweet rice cakes, necks, intestines and legs, all priced from NT$50 to NT$100 per box. Express-delivery orders may also be placed at no extra charge for orders of at least NT$3,000. --By Ann Li, translated by Sheng Chen
