Cocktail
of the month

Bar: G
Down
Bartender: Zhang Shi-bin
Cocktail: Sakura
It's not
hard to find fruit cocktails in lounge bars, but the Sakura
cocktail has been ingeniously created by the bar staff at
G Down and is especially evocative of Tokyo. At the start
of the interview it seemed strange that the bartender was
using sake as a base for a cocktail. It turned out that to
begin with the bartender was just helping his friend promote
sake, and accidentally created the Sakura that is now a house
specialty.
At first
tasting, sakura has a sweet fruit taste, without the sharpness
of sake. As I held a large martini glass, reminding myself
of Cary of "Sex In The City," I relaxed with friends
on a Friday night in a comfortable bar, laughing occasionally
in a slightly tipsy way, it occurred to me that the Sakura
is not just a cocktail, but also a kind of classy fashion
statement for mature women.
Ingredients:
1.4/3 ounce of melon liquer
2.0.5 ounces of orange liquer
3.0.5 ounces of sake
4.0.5 ounces of syrup
5.0.5 ounces of fresh lemon juice
6. an iced glass
Put ice
in a cocktail shaker, then put the above ingredients in the
shaker in the above order. Shake it up and pour into a martini
glass, and off you go...
