It is rare to find a rural-feeling teahouse among urban high rises. Here, the space is divided into interior and outdoor areas. The carefree style feels like being at grandma's house when you're little, with elevated beams, flowers planted behind red-brick and bamboo fences, and a side vegetable garden. The owner, Ms. Chiu, manages four franchised Hakka restaurants; this is the fifth with a shift in style, offering carefully prepared tea snacks that are delicate and filled with Hakka flavors--crispy rice dumplings (NT$60), tasty and chewy turnip cakes (NT$60), assorted side dishes, coffee, herbal teas, hot pot for around NT$120, and stir-fries. This is a homey-feeling place where you can sit back on the bamboo chairs, hang out and brew tea for an afternoon.
