VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
This friendly little Indian eatery, located just down the road from
The Splendor Hotel (see COMPASS map) was recently opened by Pakistani
Vicky and his Taiwanese wife, Sophia. Despite its modest size, this
restaurant features one of the most extensive Indian menus in town,
not to mention large portions of delicious, cheap food. Vicky, who
has about 10 years of Indian cooking experience in London and Karachi,
has a repertoire of about 300 dishes. These include main-course
items like the tasty Tandoori Lamb Chops (NT$180); the very popular
Chicken Tikka (NT$150); the Sheek Kebab beef rolls; Chicken Vindaloo
Karahi (NT$220); Beef Madras (NT$200), cooked in coconut sauce;
Lamb Tikka Biryani; Tandoori Chicken Leg (NT$180), made with large,
tender Taiwanese "tuji" (free-range) chickens; and vegetarian
items lke the Bhindi Karah okra with tomato hot sauce, and Bombay
Aloo Karahi potatoes with Bombay thick sauce. To go with this are
samosas, kebabs, papadams, Raita yoghurt salad, six types of Nan
bread, and imported Indian rice. All the food is nicely-balanced
between slightly spicy and flaming hot, making this a pleasant experience
for all. Drinks include soft drinks, beers (NT$80), Lassi Indian
yoghurt drinks and a tasty hot Indian Milk Tea (NT$50).
