         Country Shanghai has brought Shanghai home cooking to customers for over twenty years in Taipei. The delicate and time-consuming dishes are cheaply priced so everyone has a chance to savor authentic Shanghai cuisine. Unique Country Roast (NT$380, large; NT$280, small) is marinated pork roasted to a crispy outside with tender meat inside ¡V the taste is a warm reminder of home to many old soldiers from Shanghai. Fried Spring Bamboo Shoots (NT$220) is prepared using deep-fried preserved vegetable with seasonal bamboo shoots for a sweet, crunchy flavor. The secret to the delicious Straw Soup Dumplings (NT$50) is the addition of a soup stock, a simmering of aged hen, scallops, codfish and a dozen of ingredients, to the ground meat.
