Taichung's dining scene is full of creative ideas and this is one
of them. Easy Steak gets attention at first glance with its very
colorful, fun-looking logo. The restaurant itself is just as striking,
with more subdued colors and lighting, comfortable chairs and sofas
and a classy-feeling overall ambiance. There's more, however, as
diners will notice the walls are tastefully decorated with pictures
and art related to various legendary rock stars, together with shelves
containing about 1,500 classic rock and jazz CDs, from Deep Purple
to Paul McCartney. Customers can pick from any of these albums,
or bring their own, to play while eating. There are a wide range
of reasonably-priced steak, chicken, pork and other main course
dishes, including the Cheese-Wrapped Pork Chop (NT$260 dinner),
Italian-Style Spicy Roast Chicken (NT$280) and French Mustard Lamb
Chop (NT$350). Dinner (5-9 p.m.) main courses all include a pasta,
puff-pastry soup, salad and coffee. The same selections are NT$50
cheaper for lunch (11-2 p.m.) and afternoon tea time and include
a puff-pastry soup (add NT$30 for extra drink). A variety of Italian
pasta dishes, averaging around NT$200, are available all day in
addition to snacks--from Italian Fried Mushrooms to New York Spicy
Chicken Wings--waffles, coffees, teas, frappes ("slushies"),
juices and alcohol.
