VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
Local lovers of both Mexican and Thai food can be happy that veteran
expatriate Taichung restaurateur John Chislett is at it again, this
time with his very own place. Bonita Senorita, located on a pleasant
little pedestrian-only lane very close to the Ching Cheng/Ta Yeh
roads intersection, features a U-shaped bar that is half outside
and half inside, with tables all around. There is no shortage of
great Mexican food to be sampled, including the all-new chicken
chimichanga (NT$200), plus various burritos, enchiladas and tacos,
all ranging from about NT$150 to NT$250 and coming with John's home-made
refried beans and the works. Excellent Thai dishes, prepared by
John's wife, Aom, include Panang Gai--coconut milk, red curried
chicken and rice, Kai Deu Thai-style omelet, Phad Thai Gai Thai-style
fried noodles, Som Tam papaya salad, and Nam Dok Neua barbecued
salad beef. Beers are NT$120 to NT$150 and there are snacks like
nachos and quesadillas. John also offers a good NT$250 Sunday breakfast
brunch from 12 noon to 2 pm.
