Greater Taichung's second revolving restaurant is located
on the top of Tung's Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital building, which
dominates Wuchi Town, near Taichung Port. Day or night, diners can
enjoy a variety of Western cuisine at their tables while enjoying
a great view of the harbor and entire surrounding area, including
Tatu Mountain to the east. One full revolution takes two hours.
The menu offers a big selection of steaks, ribs, seafood and other
grilled foods, with all prices including an extensive buffet of
salad, appetizers, juices, side dishes and other items. A sampling
includes the NT$560 US Porterhouse steak (18 oz.); the NT$490 US
prime rib eye steak (10 oz.); and the NT$490 US short ribs. There
are several NT$470 lamb, beef and other ribs dishes, six choices
of New Zealand steaks; and other dishes like chicken legs (NT$390),
surf and turf and seafood like the NT$450 salmon fillet. From 2
to 5 p.m. on week days, there is an NT$269 tea time special. Management
says that the restaurant should be open for late-night dining and
snacking (9 pm-midnight) by July and for breakfast (7 to 11 a.m.)
by August. Reservations are a must, as this place has been packed
out, even on week days. Parking is available in the hospital basement.
Chung Hsi Road is a continuation of Taichung Kang Road.
