Brownie Bakery Restaurant, which already has a popular outlet on Wen Hsin
Road (381, Wen Hsin Rd., sec. 1) has expanded on its success by opening a second branch, not too far away on Wuchuan West Road, near the intersection with Tung Hsing Road. This large but cozy-looking place starts the day off with four types of Western breakfast, offered until 10:30 am, costing NT$78 to NT$130 and including eggs, sandwiches and coffee, tea or juice. For lunch (11:30 am-2 pm) or dinner (5:30-9:30 pm), diners can set up their own multi-course meals, based around a soup, appetizer, main entree, dessert and drink. These cost between NT$380 and NT$480 and include things like grilled fillet mignon and baked chicken with rosemary sauce. Until midnight, simpler meals like risotto and pasta are offered, costing around NT$200, and there are afternoon tea-time deals and late-night snacks such as soups, sandwiches and pizza. Most drinks, including coffees, teas and floats, range from NT$80 to NT$140. Of course, Brownie also has various freshly made breads for take-out.
