VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
Anyone looking to stuff their
face with a good selection of hot pot ingredients may want to check
out this latest, fairly-large addition on Hankou Road. Individual
and pairs of diners get their own hot pot. What's unique is
the fact that cooking pot is divided into two sides, one filled
with plain old water and the other with a spicy stew, for a spicy
hot pot meal. This means that you can enjoy normal and spicy
cooking at the same time. For a mere NT$289, one can gorge
on an entire buffet of items, including cabbage, spinach, beef,
mutton, pork, shrimp, 'glass' noodles, sausages, and various types
of tofu. VIP cards--given to first-time diners--drop the price
further to NT$260. There are also ingredients to create a
dipping sauce (including the popular egg yolk-based type), plenty
of rice and, to finish off a meal, an ice cream freezer. Late-night
snackers will love this place, as it's open until 5 a.m., with prices
dropping to NT$220 after midnight. Mala Wang is located near
the MeiChuan Rd. intersection. Another branch is at 299, Tunghsing
Road, section 3 (tel. 2319-6656).
