Taichung diners seeking very reasonably-priced Italian food should head to Caccia, a quiet little eatery near the intersection of Chienhsing and Hsueh Shih roads. Most of the pasta and rice dishes--served with soup, bread and tea--are NT$150 or less, including tomato seafood spaghetti, olive oil or garlic clam tagliatelle, cream seafood fusilli, and chicken conchiglitte gratin. Only a little more expensive are special order dishes (best ordered in advance by tel.) like baked cheese eggplant (NT$190), Italian cheese ravioli (NT$200) and baked whole spring chicken (NT$290).Drinks of all kinds are cheap and side order dishes like Italian green salad, baked potato and tiramisu are all about NT$100. The simple but pleasant restaurant seats about 60 on two levels and has a third-floor seating area for special parties and gatherings of 30 to 50 people. Heading on Chienhsing Road, turn left just before the Yumauou supermarket (on Hsuehshih Rd. corner) onto Wuchang Rd., which also connects onto Chinhua N. Rd. at David Broadway theaters.
