Walnut is one of the latest additions to the very attractive row
of restaurants and cafes along the grassy, tree-lined boulevard
which begins opposite the Taiwan Museum of Art's main entrance.
Management is obviously trying to make this into a quiet, high-class
place, as menu notices ask customers to refrain from gambling and
card-playing, to speak softly and dress neatly. The light-brown,
two-floor stucco building is also very attractive inside and outside.
The large menu is mainly features western cuisine, such as various
steak dinners--Roasted US T-Bone (NT$580), Roasted US Fillet (NT$480),
Roasted Sirloin and so on. There are fish, pork and chicken
dishes, plus pasta and paella listings (NT$280-350) and some Asian
specialties. Most courses include soup and salad. Outside
of dining hours, there are plenty of coffees and teas to enjoy.
