A spacious, modern-looking establishment, River Kwai City used to be a western restaurant but has been completely revamped to serve a broad selection of Thai cuisine, offered by its Thai manager.  The extensive menu includes fried chicken/beef with coconut, Thai-style green papaya, beef and other salads (NT$200-250), Northern Thai Spicy Meat, various fried rice and noodle dishes, curries, fish cakes, spicy and sour soups (NT$280), Thai ice drinks and other beverages.  The restaurant--distinguished by its orchid logo and golden Thai wat above its entrance--features high ceilings, glass walls and plenty of seating.  It's located at the corner of Wuchuan West Road and Wuchuan West 5th Street, between the Taiwan Museum of Art and the Wuchuan West / Chungming South road intersection.
