Many of us have no doubt wondered and imagined what life might be like if dinosaurs once again roamed the Earth. Such conjecturing can now become reality, thanks to the recently-opened Taichung Jurassic Exhibition, which is continuing to March 27, 2016.

This one-of-a-kind outdoor Jurassic exhibition--the only one in Taiwan--has over 50 kinds of life-like dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, designed to grip your imagination with animated effects that allow many of these creatures actually move and make noise. For example, a dinosaur positioned by an on-site "cave" entrance can sense movement as visitors walk outside and will rush out to scare you with screaming sounds.

At night, a variety of lighting creates interesting effects and a mysterious background ambiance. The biggest dinosaur present--over three floors tall with blinking eyes, breathing effects and moving body--is the rather obvious main attraction here. Throughout the exhibition are a mix of herbivores and carnivores, and each dinosaur comes with a sign providing details about its history and origins, helping to educate young and old visitors when they visit.

If you're looking for a break from your dino explorations, there are plenty of food and merchandise booths, manned by vendors dressed up as dinosaurs, adding to the many photo opportunities in the 6,600-square-meter park area. There's also a 9,900-square-meter parking lot so that families can consider driving here for a pleasant urban outing.
