Win-win: Supporting the visually-impaired with a relaxing massage

Many people experience their fair share of stress, be it from work or studies. Many also want to be healthier but have little time to exercise, or make excuses to procrastinate when it comes to fitness. However, for roughly the same amount of time that it takes to watch a TV show, you can consider the healthier alternative of getting a massage to revive your spirits, enhance your productivity and stretch your muscles without too much physical exertion.

In Taiwan, getting a massage from a visually-impaired massage therapist is an optimal choice because of the fair, standardized prices, good value and professional services that this provides. Many of these massage therapists have received national certification, giving you peace of mind about receiving effective massage to release your body tensions and relax your muscles.

Most massage centers offer massage services focused on the feet, thighs, calves, shoulders and neck, or even traditional Asian muscle-scraping therapies. There are also some therapists who can offer home visits. You can find maps and addresses for these registered massage centers and therapists at this Labor Affairs Bureau site: http://msg.taichung.gov.tw/

The Taiwan Foundation for the Blind recently started a new WenXin Road massage center that also ofers aromatherapy massages in a very cozy, comfortable and spacious environment. This means that you can enjoy the satisfaction of contributing to a charity and supporting the visually-impaired while receiving treatment to relax your mind, body and spirit. That fact this also provides provides these therapists with employment opportunities should be a further encouragement to support such centers. Visiting them for massages is also a great way to show recognition for their professional skills and helps build up their confidence to work and contribute back to society.
