This extraordinary establishment combines a hotel, restaurant and massive 21-meter-deep diving pool (Asia's deepest, world's third-deepest) where customers can scuba and free dive. Designed to offer residents and visitors a fresh urban recreation option, the 18x18x21-meter indoor pool was designed with consulting from Italy's similar Y-40, the world's deepest (40m) pool. Divers enter the pool from the building's fourth floor and there are five stepped levels, from 1.3 to 21 meters, plus a shipwreck-like tunnel area. Scuba-certified and non-scuba free divers can book a session (NT$1500 90-min., add NT$500 for guide) at least a day in advance, and non-certified divers can enjoy a "discovery" session (NT$3000/person) or opt for a 30-hour PADI certification course. The nautical-themed La Cucina Italiana e Amore restaurant offers pasta (NT$220-310), pizzas (NT$240-360), risotto and drinks, plus views of divers through a giant window. The hotel has simple boat-themed rooms with bunk beds, from single (NT$1800) to six-person rooms (NT$6000) with room/dive/dining packages and other discounts available. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Anna Yang
