If you've just returned from Jinmen, and didn't buy enough souvenirs to satisfy friends and relatives, this is the place. The boss, Mr. Chen, is a native of Jinmen who regularly travels back and forth between the island and Kaohsiung. His travel agency/retail/wholesale store has, as you would expect, many varieties of Kaoliang--the sorghum-based liquor that is Jinmen's most famous product--plus dried noodles, and various sauces and condiments in jars. Cleavers fashioned from steel artillery-shell fragments left behind by Communist Chinese bombardment--formerly another of Jinmen's signature goods--are no longer manufactured. The shelling stopped more than 20 years ago, and all the steel has apparently been used up. This business does, however, stock Jinmen cleavers. A pair goes for NT$1,800.
