Two blocks away from one of the most crowded markets in Kaohsiung, the Piggy Bar is prepared to serve those who would like to unwind after shopping in the fashion battleground. Piggy Bar is designed with a very mellow, minimalist style. This seems different than most ordinary, larger bars that seem to try and pack in as many seats as possible in a limited space. For people who like to spend time drinking in a small but open place instead of being with a big crowd of shouting people, the Piggy Bar is a quiet respite that can make the outside world seem like loud, noisy, ancient Rome. A decent selection of whiskey, brandy, beer and mixed drinks are all available and, like most modern bars, they also serve food. The music selection leans towards pop music, but you can request the establishment for a song or two. With two wall-mounted flat screens, one can also sit back, have a short break to enjoy a show, or cheer with your drinks and mates for your favorite team. --Words and translated by Leifson McEnroe, photos by Alon
