Considered one of the most reputable Italian eateries in Kaohsiung, the restaurant chain Bossa Nova can be found on SihWei Road, in Sinjyuejiang district, at the Harbor, in Dream Mall, and inside I-Shou University. With its five locations spread all over Kaohsiung, patrons can have a great dinner in a nice atmosphere no matter where they are in the city. Explaining that they take inspiration from the island of Capri, Bossa Nova's management wants all of their customers to feel like they are vacationing in Italy. The relaxing, Mediterranean feel is helped along by the atmosphere, which highlights comfortable outdoor seating, with mosaic tiles everywhere and plentiful tropical plants speckling every corner.
Bossa Nova's diverse menu selection includes offerings like au gratin dishes and stew pots, as well as Japanese and Indian-curry hot pots. The variety of ingredients and choices here are sure to please, as are the surprisingly reasonable prices, so don't let the scenery fool you--every person's minimum charge is only NT$40, and every menu selection is under NT$200.
One popular dish is the Japanese Fried Pork Chop with Curry and Rice (NT$155). This huge, crispy pork chop rests on a bed of authentic Thai rice and is topped with creamy curry sauce. Beverages come half-price with most entrees, making the bill even more modest. Moreover, an in-house bakery sells freshly-made cakes, mousse, cheese and handmade cookies, so you can grab a treat on your way out.
