Ali has delighted foreigners and locals with his authentic Pakistani samosas and home-made hand rolls in the Liouhe Night Market for years. His new restaurant is a little bit of Pakistan, India and a whole bunch of flavour. Ali's Place on WuFu 2nd Road is a feast for the senses: the smell of fresh herbs and spices, the cozy ambience, and the sights and sounds of a Bollywood musical on the big-screen plasma fill the air. Reach for a menu and contemplate over 50 authentic Indian and Pakistani items like Murgh Chana, chick peas and chicken in a thick masala sauce (NT$250); Beef Curry, a classic spicy dish with stewed beef (NT$220); and the highly recommended Shrimp or Fish Coconut Curry, a classic seafood option (NT$250). The Palak Paneer, buttery soft paneer cheese melted in fresh spinach Palak (NT$170) is an absolute must according to this writer. Sop up your curry with hot, crispy Tandoori Naan (NT$40).
