The Happy Buddha Restaurant, located near
the corner of BoAi Road and CaiHaEr 2nd Sreet (right next
to the duck restaurant) was designed to be a before/after
party hang out spot. It lures you in with funky "opium
den" reminiscent red wallpaper and low lanterns. Named
for the very happy, very fat Buddha that stands at the end
of the bar, it's a place for friends and good times. The unpretentious
atmosphere and cozy space is easily filled with good food,
talk, music and drinks. Although not finished by the time
of this writing, upstairs will be an area of good grooves
and soft sofas to pump you up for a party or help you mellow
out from one. Their excellent food is complemented by a fine
selection of drinks at good and sometimes great prices. The
owners are friendly folk with stellar ideas so keep an ear
to the ground and an eye on the signage. |
