Established in 2001, Good Man Caffe and Steak
House has opened a new branch located directly opposite Dollars
Supermarket in MingCheng Road. It is unique in that it consists
of two restaurants under one roof:
_Good Man Caffe
The ground floor is a lively, spacious restaurant that includes
a small stage, an open-air courtyard, a large bar with 9 TV
screens above it and even a few sidewalk-seats. Here they
serve mostly Chinese dishes (with a variety of hotpots being
the favourite), but those craving Western flavour can order
from a range of delicious pastas and spaghettis prepared upstairs.
Only limited English menus are available, but the friendly
staff will happily help you place an order. Beverages include
coffee, tea and draft beers. The bar also serves fine whiskeys,
wines (NT$150 per glass) and imported beers (from NT$100).
Not to mention a collection of cocktails all priced under
NT$200! Recommended for groups is the Test Tube Baby (NT$500),
which is more expensive, but consists of 25 tubes guaranteed
to get the conversation going.
_Good Man Steak House
The second floor was designed to be reminiscent of the interior
of a spacecraft. Fortunately it was done so stylishly that
it creates an instant upper-class atmosphere, which is strengthened
by live piano perfomances and truly gourmet Western foods.
The chef's pride in his work clearly shows in each offering,
whether it be the German Pig Knuckle (NT$450), the NZ Fillet
Steak (NT$520) or the French Lobster Au Gratin (NT$680). And
no less so with the variety of Italian spaghetti dishes (from
NT$320). At night you have the choice of a set menu, including
an appetizer, salad, soup and bread, your choice of main course,
dessert and a beverage - all for the price of the listed main
course (including a 10% service charge). There is another,
smaller Good Man Caffe branch in Kaohsiung City on the corner
of JongShan and MinSheng Roads. |
