Situated on the circle where JongShan and
MingSheng roads meet, you'll find Noah's Ark Seafood Restaurant
and Bar. Decorated mostly in white, this restaurant by day/lounge
bar by night, offers a refreshing change to the usual "dark"
atmosphere found in similar establishments. If you can resist
the temptation to sit in their airy, water-surrounded dining
patio at the entrance, you'll find a spacious, clean and classy
dining area waiting. Upon entering, a fully stocked bar and
giant projection screen TV will immediately catch your eye.
Two floors of seating encompassing the entranceway comfortably
await you.
Noah's is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.
and begins their day with a special lunch set-menu (starting
at NT$280) consisting of soup, salad, choice of main course,
dessert and a beverage. Afternoon tea starts at 2 p.m., offering
various sandwiches, drinks and desserts. Dinner at 5:30 p.m.
brings a gourmet lineup of well-presented dishes that would
agree with most anyone's palate. Notable selections are their
Crispy German Pig Knuckle with Sauerkraut (NT$480) and an
Italian Style Swordfish Roll (NT$520). Both include a drink
and dessert. The Pan Fried Beef Ribs with Cheese and Ham (NT$350)
also shouldn't be missed.
If drinks are your thing, their wide-ranging menu will surely
keep you busy. The beer selection is limited. Noah's self-titled
signature drink (NT$200), containing a refreshing blend of
fruit and rum, is worth trying. Another interesting choice
is the "Circle in the Sand", a surprisingly delicious
cocktail containing Oreo cookies.
At 9:30 p.m., the dinner menu is replaced
by a night snack menu featuring limited selection but ample
portions. About the same time, lights and music change, and
an interesting transformation occurs. The wall above the entrance,
which is actually two receding "doors" opens to
reveal a lovely view of the patio area, creating a relaxing
atmosphere.
Noah's makes small changes to their bilingual menu every few
months and occasionally offer live entertainment and even
fashion shows. Cigars and discounted gift certificates are
also available for purchase.
