Located between Talee Isetan and HanShin department store,
lies Nanyang Snacks; a modest street stall that only serves
Roti or Indian pancakes (NT$35). It sounds strange but most
customers love it and faithfully come for their Roti. In order
to cater to local tastes, Nanyang changes the original recipe
by adding eggs to the surface of wheat flour, and then frying
it. More or less like Taiwanese egg cake; with the difference
lying in the taste. Nanyang also offers a unique curry and
condensed milk sauce, depending on how spicy or sweet you
like things. To go with your Roti, Nanyang's specialty drinks
include Borneo coffee (NT$40), Ceylon tea (NT$15 to NT$30)
and milk tea (NT$20 to NT$40). With 65% Liberica and 35% Robusta
bean, the Borneo coffee is a must-drink. Although Nanyang
has relatively little on offer, it still has magic to draw
new and old customers.
