Sky Blue is a delightful surprise of international
food tucked away in the relative obscurity of Pingtung City.
The two chef-owners are cousins, members of the aboriginal
Rukai tribe, who have trained and worked in hotels around
Taiwan. The prices are bargains for the quality of food served.
Set meals are NT$160 to NT$200; all come with salad (chef's,
duck, or caesar), soup (Italian, seafood, pumpkin, crab or
bacon), dessert (yoghurt, fruit platter, or caramel pudding)
and a drink. Foreign dishes such as Spanish Rice, Thai Curry
Chicken, and Singapore Steak are NT$100 to NT$180, with Indonesian
Fried Rice (also known as Nasi Goreng; NT$100) being one of
the most popular. Coffees are NT$50 to NT$70; teas are NT$70
or NT$80; and cocktails are NT$150 and NT$170. The cafe is
easy to find; the dining area is a simple covered area just
off the street, perfect for the warmer days. Between 2 p.m.
and 5 p.m., a special ladies' set meal is available (NT$150).
