Cafe Caballeria Rusticana marks a refreshing turn away from the legions of coffeeshop clones that have laid siege to Tainan in recent years. Designed with a traditional European decor, Cafe Caballeria Rusticana exudes the warm, sleepy atmosphere of an Alpine mountain cottage. The exterior is bedecked with flowers and the flags of various Swiss cantons. The originality does not end with the decor. Open the attractive wooden door and you'll find a menu that includes both British and German set breakfasts (both priced at NT$160). These sets offer sausage (German) or bacon (British), eggs, seasonal vegetables, and coffee or tea. Individual coffees, teas and international snacks are from NT$100 to NT$150. This cafe provides unique culinary sensations across the board; be sure to stop in for afternoon tea between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
