Opened on January 7 this year
by folk who are originally from Hong Kong but have long resided
in Taiwan, Zheng Family Beef Noodles is a small (more than
a dozen guests and it would feel pretty crowded) and immaculately
clean eatery between SzWei 4th Road and the end of LingYa
2nd Road. As you would expect from the name, the dishes here
are beef-oriented, with soup, noodle, and "ban-mian"
(thicker green noodles) options, all NT$60 to NT$100. If beef
is not your preference, there are a couple of pork dishes,
both priced at NT$60. Side dishes (vegetables, tofu, pickles)
are NT$20 each. Although it's not so close to any of Kaohsiung's
major shopping zones, if you are heading to Kaohsiung Christian
Hospital, or simply looking for inexpensive, down-to-earth,
but very tasty cooking, this is a place to try. --By Steven
