John
Charlesworth and Carolyn Chen--the people behind the original
Bagel Bagel--are the creators of this spacious new Greek-themed
restaurant. John has loved Greek food since childhood, because
he grew up in a Toronto neighborhood with a large Greek population.
With his Greek dishes he strives for authenticity, and he
especially recommends the rissoles. He's also proud of the
bruschetta--originally an Italian dish, but, John adds, "We've
made it Greek." There are more than a hundred items on
the menu. Hot appetizers are priced NT$160 to NT$220; cold
appetizers start at NT$60. Soups and salads go for NT$80 or
so; main dishes are also very affordable at around NT$200.
The business lunch is NT$150. There are several vegetarian
options, and take-out orders are 20 percent cheaper. The front
of the restaurant has a seaside, daytime feel; the rear is
more "nighttime," with decor inspired by Greek mythology.
Upstairs there is a gallery area for exhibitions, and soon
a lounge area for coffees and meals will be opened. --By Steven
