Treasure
Box Korean BBQ
12F, 21, SanDuo 4th Rd., ChienJen, Kaohsiung City (inside
the FE21 MegA Department Store)
Most
Korean restaurants have menus set up so that even the
most culinary obtuse individual can order in confidence.
After all, one can't go wrong with a side dish of kimchi.
On the other hand, at places like Treasure Box Korean
BBQ, the dining order of operations is coordinated
by the staff, so guests can relax and enjoy the food.
Perhaps
the first of its kind in the southern region of Taiwan,
Treasure Box breaks away from the traditional a la
carte style with its all-you-can-eat philosophy. Children
no taller than 100 cm have free admittance, children
between 100 and 130 cm are admitted at NT$150, and
anyone above 130 cm is charged NT$299 per person. On
weekends and holidays, the adult's entrance fee is
upgraded to NT$399 per person. There is an additional
10-percent service charge at all times.
A
buffet table of appetizers is located in the center
of the restaurant. All other main dishes are brought
to your table by a skilled waiter or waitress who can
guide you through the order of operations. Each table
has a built-in grill and ventilator system, specially
ordered from Korea. The design of this system is top
notch, and ensures the safety of those seated around
the table. The waiter carefully tends the grill while
introducing each meat, sauce (imported from Korea),
and vegetable, enhancing the experience.
Treasure
Box is located on the 12th floor of the FE21 MegA Department
Store. The interior design is a striking contrast to
the rest of the shopping center: Meticulously planned,
visitors are transported to a rustic, wholesome world
of wood and decorative antiques.
Discount
deals, coinciding with department store sales, are
likely in September and March. For details of other
specials, please call the restaurant.
