Influenced by the coffee culture of Paris' Left Bank, the two-story, 18th-century Renaissance-style Cheng Yi Art Gallery is located near Tainan's baseball stadium. Bookshelves piled with books, newspapers, and magazines provide reading material. Places are reserved for books customers have not yet finished reading, so on their next visit they can continue where they left off. Every table is named after an artist. The second floor has a showroom displaying paintings and antiques. There's also a grand piano on which music lovers can give their own recitals. The menu advises customers how to choose their favorite coffee. Drinks are NT$120; cakes are NT$60. The herbal tea is made with fresh herbs rather than dried ones. -- By Magen Lin
