        If you want to buy a watch which you'll treasure for the rest of your life, this could very well be the place. The range of brand-names is dazzling: Bulgari, Cartier, Christian Dior, Chanel, Ebel, Girard-Perregaux, Longines, Omega, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, and many others. And for ordinary folk, the prices are truly jaw-dropping, starting at NT$20,000 and going all the way up to NT$20 million. The company--which despite its name is not Chinese--has more than half a century of history, and is one of just a handful of Taiwanese businesses to have attained membership of the Association Interprofessionnelle de la Haute Horlogerie (AIHH), which is based in Geneva. --By Richard Matheson
