The Orient gives sanctuary for those seeking to break
free from the traditional Tainan pub scene. Located
across from the famous Tainan Landis Hotel, take an
elevator up to the third floor and step into the red
light lobby. Entering the club you'll first notice the
Saturday Night Fever-esque disco dance floor, small
stage and surrounding seating; faced by a long bar.
Private rooms, available for group reservations (or
an intimate night out), sit off to the side. The layout
focuses on the dance floor, beckoning you to join the
party.
A favourite of locals and foreigners, on any given
evening the Orient is packed as people party the night
away to hip-hop and dance beats provided by the two
in-house DJs. Occasionally there are live bands as well.
The Orient has daily specials, like Ladies Night on
Wednesdays (NT$150 cover for ladies and NT$350 for men
with one free drink), and all-you-can-drink cocktails
on Thursdays (NT$400), plus and a draw for NT$5000.
Fridays are Bikini Night (students NT$200 and anyone
wearing a bikini free), while on Saturdays NT$350 will
get you one free drink and into the busiest bar in Tainan.
Bar selection at Orient is extensive, with a wide range
of cocktails (NT$200 - NT$350), a large selection of
12-30 year old whiskeys, imported bottled beers for
NT$150 and Carlsberg on tap for NT$150. Champagnes and
wines are available as well if you're out to celebrate.
To recharge your batteries there is a small snack menu
with everything priced from NT$150 - NT$200.
The party at the Orient kicks off at 10:30 p.m. Sunday
to Wednesday and 9:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and
goes all night until 6 a.m. For information about booking
private booths or live bands just call.
