        East Village Arts Store, located in Taipei Artist Village near Taipei Main Railway Station, is a store that specializes in books, videos and audiotapes relating to performance arts. Walking into the store is like walking into a different world: cozy, comfortable, and intimate. Traditional bookcase display methods have been discarded in favor of adjustable shelving. The items--books, audio and video tapes, CDs and DVDs, musical scores, and accessories--cover various aspects of theater, dance, and movies. Combining products of the visual arts with those of contemporary literature, the East Village Arts Store is somehow segregated from the big city. It joins the regular scheduled Artist Village international exhibits, and is a new spot to spend an afternoon immersed in art and culture. --By Ken Lin
