With the recent opening of Famous Larry's New York Pizza, Pizza lovers have one more choice at which to eat their favorite Italian snack. The shop, open for lunch and dinner, sells pizza by the slice at its location near National Taiwan University. Famous Larry's customers seem to be split evenly between locals looking for a hot snack or a handy meal and students on the go. A generous slice of pizza sells for NT$75 and is served up on the double. Their pizza dough, made fresh daily, gets its flavor while left to rise; it is then cooked on a flat stone which ensures an evenly baked, crispy crust. In keeping with the New York spirit and reflecting local excitement over having a pitcher on the Yankee's team, the entire staff at Famous Larry's wears Yankees jerseys. --By David Schnell, translated by Ann Lee, photos by Andy Lin

A. Franchise owner Greg Walsh wears the uniform of Famous Larry's New York Pizza--a Yankees jersey in honor of Wang Chien-ming--as he removes a freshly made pizza from the oven.

B. Thin-crust pizzas include Larry's Favorite (NT$95, ham and pineapple), Brooklyn (NT$115, pepperoni, sausage and ham), and Soho (NT$115, chicken, pesto and mushrooms).
