VEG
DELIGHT

In its food preparation Veg Delight
follows the LOHAS principle (lifestyles of health
and sustainability), and as a result their focus
is creating quality dishes that use little salt,
sugar or oil. This airy restaurant feels modern,
yet natural, and a nice touch is that they provide
recipe cards to take away and give calorie counts
for each dish. Offerings are varied, but recommended
is the set meal (NT$450), arriving with a yogurt
drink, handmade sesame tofu, salad, soup, tasty
yellow bean rice, dessert and fruit. These are
prepared with attention to freshness and also
incorporate Chinese medicinal ideas. The main
dish was special mushroom prepared in select European
truffle oil, with yam, a rare treat of fresh fig,
Japanese-style sauce, and green tea powder--a
surprising, yet complimentary selection of flavours.
Quality drinks are also available, and if there
for tea time, be sure to try the gorgeous Carrot
Mousse (NT$80). Business lunch includes one drink,
main dish and dessert (NT$320). --By Claire Tyrrell
