Located behind the Hsinchu train station, and near the DongDa Expressway is a unique fusion of railroad history, art and food. Located in what used to be a train engine repair facility, this large space has been taken over and transformed as part of the Council of Cultural Affairs 'Art Network of Railway Warehouses' project. On the exhibition side, there are monthly displays by local artists, and in-house open workshop with a featured artist changing every six months and a sales area with locally-produced artworks, glass products and antiques. Some international artists may be exhibiting there as well in future. The cafe area is a pleasant and classy without being pretentious and features an outdoor patio as well as a unique train viewing area with seating. Especially noteworthy on the menu is the pizza (NT$120, except on fridays: NT$100). Drinks run NT$100 for a beer and NT$140+ for cocktails. Occasionally look out for live music performances.
