A pre-operative male-to-female transsexual Bree takes an unexpected journey when she learns that she fathered a son, now a teenage runaway hustling on the streets of New York, now incarcerated by the police. Her apparent son, Toby, is confused teenager whose mother committed suicide and stepfather abused him. His greatest dream is to move to the west coast, become a porn star and find his real father. Misunderstanding upon misunderstanding ensues as Bree gets the boy out of jail, and he mistakes her for a Christian missionary.
