The stars of New York's Central Park Zoo, a lion-a zebra, a giraffe and a hippo-are best friends. After accidentally escaping from the zoo and being captured, they are sent back to Africa. Unfortunately, their ship capsizes en route to the island of Madagascar. Now, these captivity-raised animal friends must learn how to cope with life in the wild.
