Jan-Mar 2010 "Happy Chinese New Years" Theme Event at the National Center for Traditional Arts
To welcome the coming of a new year, the Center for Traditional Arts is holding its first "Happy Chinese New Years" theme event, inviting world-class folk art performances from all around Taiwan to perform at the center. Exhibitions include the "Festive Miao / Hmong Regalia Special Exhibition" and a special exhibition of traditional lanterns and prints. Green the City Taichung 2010 Charity Concert

Embracing the Heart--The Painting of Lo Fong
Ms. Lo Fong was born in an scholarly family and started her arts education in high school before entering the Department of Fine Arts at the National Taiwan Normal University where she learned techniques of traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and Western painting. The exhibition is divided into four themes: 1) Reflections Outside the Window; 2) Embracing Creation; 3) Nature and I; and 4) Records of Past Journeys. Natural images are the inspiration for many of her creations, whether it is in the style or materials used to create her artworks. All are welcome to this annual charity event, features thousands of second-hand English and Chinese books, on sale for a minimum donation of NT$50 each. All funds raised will be donated to the Taichung AmCham KIDZ Charity Fund, helping local orphans and disadvantaged children. There will also be live entertainment and a raffle drawing for prizes donated by local businesses.
