Walking into Aroma Coffee is like visiting the cafes on Italy's Piazza San Marco. The pale yellow lights and European-style, dark-brown interior are classically decorated. To make the coffee the real star of the show at Aroma, all of the mugs and saucers are exquisitely hand-painted.
Aroma's experienced coffee chefs recommend their signature drink--Aroma Special Rich Coffee (hot or iced, NT$200), which uses Brazilian coffee as its base. The hot coffees are served with a bit of whiskey for flavor, as well as cream and cinnamon powder, which is a winning combination, to be sure. The cold coffees are served with a layer of cream and sugar on the rim.
If you like a specific type/brand of coffee, then try a combination of Mandeling and Brazil coffee beans for NT$200. At the moment, Aroma coffee is offering Japanese set meals during lunch (11 a.m.-2 p.m.). During Afternoon Tea (2-5 p.m.), order any drink and pay an extra NT$50 to enjoy cake, a sandwich, or handmade cookies.
When nighttime rolls around, the coffee shop turns into a piano bar; its comfortable setting, live music and diverse selection of drinks will help you unwind after a day's work. Apart from the beverages, you may also order a variety of Chinese-style dishes, starting from NT$280.
