Ken
He, the owner of this cute, little open-air cafe, situated
at the intersection of Dong Xing (Dung Shing) Road and
Dadun 11th Street, started out two years ago with a cafe-on-wheels
concept. This very distinctive portable cafe uses an Austin
Mini car, towing a cafe trailer created from half of another
Mini. While Mr. He's popular portable cafe continues to
make its rounds of the island, he recently opened another
fixed-location cafe. In keeping with his unconventional
approach, he utilized a small, forgotten strip of land
between two buildings. This has been landscaped to include
a wood and stone deck, an overhead lattice with retractable
roof, lots of flowers, and a pleasant grassy lawn. There
are 10 tables and 40 chairs spread around, including a
back, outside area with umbrella-shaded tables. The menu
is simple, but good and reasonable. Coffees range from
the NT$35 Americano to the NT$65 Cappuccino, and there
are lattes, espressos, and herbal, fruit and milk teas.
Beer will be added soon, too. For food, there are waffles
various sandwiches and three breakfast specials, starting
with the NT$60 waffle and Americano "A" special.
Delivery and take-out orders are also accepted. |
