"The Shamrock" happens to be located right next to Pumpkin
House but, compared to its long-standing neighbor, is the new kid
on the Art Museum/Wuchuan Parkway. One nice feature of The Shamrock
is the small garden at the entrance, containing various plants and
flowers. The entire building is green and has a circular shape,
so it really catches the eye amid all the other establishments along
the street. There is an outdoor deck on the second floor, and I'm
sure that sitting out there on an autumn evening is quite relaxing.
Of course, with a name like The Shamrock you would expect to find
hints of it everywhere and, looking out at a room full of green
tablecloths, you do feel like you are out on a field of thick, green
grass. Coffee, set meals and afternoon tea are available; the menu
here is much like you would find at many coffee shops. If you need
a place to kick back for a while, consider the Shamrock. Grab one
of the rattan chairs next to a window, watch the world go by and
let the afternoon hours drift away.
