With the exception
of its tiled roof, this teahouse is almost completely covered by
trees, giving a feeling of seclusion from the busy world outside.
Wu Wei Tsao Tang covers an area of about 300 pings, making it one
of the larger teahouses in town. Inside, stroll along the corridors,
admiring the vast collection of local art objects. Of course, don¡¦t
forget to sit down and have some tea. The house specialties are
teas grown in the high mountains of Taiwan, such as Shanlinhsi oolong
tea (NT$450 per 1.3 ounces) and Alishan oolong tea (NT$380 per 1.3
ounces). To go along with your tea, there are a variety of snacks
including brown sugar pastries (NT$70) and taro and bamboo cakes
(NT$70). There are also set meals available. The most popular ones
are grilled salmon (NT$220) and smoked duck (NT$180).
