When you were a child did you ever dream of having a tree house
of your own where you could go to be sad or happy, to play, to look
out into the distance or to dream? Now, Taichung has such
a place.
The Tree House is a real, solidly built tree house that can hold
about 20 people at a time. According to the owner, Jing-wen
Luo, the Tree House has held up well even during a typhoon.
The decor reminds one of the rugged outdoors. While
here, make sure to stroll around the spacious grounds and enjoy
the natural scenery. There are also a number of art objects
to admire inside.
The owner, Ms. Luo, moved to Taichung from Puli after the 921 earthquake.
She has brought some of the delicacies of Puli with her, such as
crickets, scallions, crayfish, freshwater fish, chicken, and fish
and bamboo soup. In addition to the food, there are a variety of
drinks, including Chinese tea that you can brew yourself and various
herbal teas. If you spend more than NT$300 you can have your
fortune told. Unlike most fortune tellers, Kuo Jung-yu, advises
people on the mental and spiritual aspects of their lives, to allow
them to balance both body and mind. With all that it has to offer,
the Tree House is a place that must be experienced.
