(04) 2254-3355
521, WenXin Road, Sec. 1
Hours: 9:30 am-12 am (10:30 pm Most food court/mall outlets open to 10:30 pm)

Taichung's sixth and largest Carrefour branch is much more than a hypermarket. Rather, it's a full mall with an additional 70 individual shops and restaurants. Ideally located on WenXin Road between WenXin 1st and DaYe roads, the large building is the first build-operate-transfer (BOT) project of its kind for the Taichung city government. The 8,322-square-meter Carrefour hypermarket occupies floors two and three and, in addition to the usual products, features unique imported food products from Europe, the U.S. and Asia not found at other branches. Above the B2 and B3 level parking lots, the B1 level contains a spacious food court that includes Pizza Hut's first sit-down/eat-in outlet in the city, Tainan Dan Zai Noodles, McDonald's, and an 85C cafe with a nice semi-outdoor seating garden. There are also many kids' stores, a children's play area, a Kingstone bookstore and Taichung's first branch of Piin, a large retailer of chic-looking modern and retro Asian/Western furniture and home decorations. The first floor has more outlets, such as an attractive new Ponderosa Steakhouse (2252-3578), the swanky black-and-silver Cafe Grazie (also serving pastas, pizzas and cocktails), Sushi Express, and an Adidas outlet store offering a great selection of shoes (such as cool football/soccer boots). Other shops include Timberland, NET, Bossini, Giordano, and Miss Teen.
