Those who want to shop 'till they drop might want to make the short trip to Hsinchu and check out the sprawling Windance Shopping Center. Covering more than 360,000 square meters, the mall's publicists claim it is the biggest of its kind in Asia, although is up for debate. Regardless, Windance is certainly huge, with 17 floors, over 120 specialty stores (Rockport, Lush, Sud Paris, Laura Ashley, Toys 'R' Us), 15 restaurants and a large food court. It also boasts two large department stores--Matsuya Ginza and Jusco. In addition, there is an international-standard 5-star hotel and soon-to-be-opened indoor amusement park and movie theater complex. Parking shouldn't be a problem with the mall's 3,000 parking spaces for cars and a further 3,000 spaces for motorcycles. Even so, it may still be advisable to get to the mall early, as management is expecting 50,000 visitors a day. --By Mark Payne.
