Inside the Science Museum’s Plant Conservatory is Southeast
Asia’s largest rainforest construction. The entrance
to the shop is past the statuesque butterfly. There is a diverse
variety flora and fauna, gardening, and Chinese herbal medicine
books. Look at the dark night through different perspectives
with a night kaleidoscope (NT$380). Admire 3D slides in a
10 slide set (NT$1990), individual slides are NT$200. There
is an outer space set with 22 slides (NT$1990), individual
slides are 150NT. There are also caterpillars and worms (NT$100-
NT$200). Pens shaped like caterpillars and other creepy crawlers
are NT$250 each, with pen stand and three varieties. Cultivate
your own worms (NT$70–NT$230 a pot), instruction manual
included. Seed packets are NT$30 each. Preserved butterflies
are NT$100 each. Take home German-made bone china tall latte
mugs with floral print (NT$770). There are a variety of herbal
teas, (NT$60 a pot). Another plus here is the helpful and
polite staff.
